Needed for Adult Large Sweater: about 1.25 to 1.5 pounds

 

This 100% alpaca yarn is from our own herd.  After shearing we send our fiber to a small mill that specializes in processing alpaca fiber.  The result is soft, colorful alpaca in natural colors.  

Description: 2-ply bulky weight yarn (really a "worsted" weight) with a hand-spun look

Needle size:  8-10 recommended

Skein size: approximately 100 yards (usually 2-3 ounces)

Price: 
$3 per ounce (less than 10 ounces)
$2.50/ounce (10 ounces or more)

Colors: fawn, ecru (off-white), brown, grey

Questions

Is each color from a different alpaca?
Because we're a small breeder (and maintain a small herd) we combined the fiber from alpacas with the same color.  For example, the fawn yarn is a combination of Misty Morning and Luc's Skywalker
